This berrylicious smoothie will help to brighten skin and reduce skin breakouts. Rather than reaching for the Clearasil, why not try and minimise breakouts from the inside out using food! Consume foods that boost your immunity to fight bacteria and foods rich in antioxidants, vitamin C and zinc as well as omega 3 oils – which can help balance hormones. This smoothie is loaded with antioxidants from the blueberries, cherries and almond butter and has omega 3 oils from the almond butter too! Beets are also exceptional for your skin. They contain anthocyanins which help improve complexion, reduce inflammation and help with dry skin. This amazing root rejuvenates the skin and helps reduce acne.

What can also help those prone to skin breakouts? Bee Prepared daily defence immune support (a natural supplement based on health from bee hives which includes bee propolis and other natural nutrients). It is a ‘must have’ product for those prone to skin breakouts. It is full of beneficial nutrients, rich in antioxidants & bioflavonoid immune boosters, which help promote skin healing.  It also has natural antibiotic and anti-bacterial properties.

This smoothie, is thick, fruity, sharp, sweet and has a subtly earthy flavour from the beets! It makes a great fast and easy breakfast that you know will make you feel energised and ready for the day ahead!

1 cup frozen cherries,
Handful of strawberries,
Handful of blueberries,

I’ve never added beetroot to a smoothie, but the smoothie looks promising! And I love your inside-out approach to food as a tool for health and beauty!

You can only taste the Beet slightly Berta if you add it to a smoothie with lots of other fruits. Glad you liked the recipe :)
