In a previous post I documented my hopes for 2015 which included exploring Cornwall. Although I’ve lived in Cornwall for over a year, I haven’t managed to see very much as I spent the majority of last year in Gloucestershire with my parents as that is where my medical treatment is. This year I am planning to spend a lot more time down in Cornwall between appointments which is so exciting. Paddy has also recently passed his driving test which has really opened up where we can go and visit. I am not able to be out for more than a couple of hours and that’s on a good day so we have been trying to find new places that are relatively close by to explore.

We recently visited the Cornwall Seal Sanctuary in a little village called Gweek. The sanctuary provides a lifeline for stray, sick and injured seal pups which have been discovered around the Cornwall coast. It was so lovely; I never knew how sociable seals were?! They are also incredibly beautiful and SO cute. It was so nice to get some fresh air and have a little push in the chair :)

We also went to Portreath Beach on a very cold, crisp and windy Sunday morning. Even though we were only on the beach for a few minutes (as I can’t stand for long and you can’t push a wheelchair over sand) it was just amazing to see and listen to the waves crashing against the shore again and it gave me a great sense of tranquility and happiness! It wasn’t quite warm enough for me to dip my feet in this time though!

What have you been up to in 2015 so far?

    The seals are so adorable!
I hope you enjoyed the trip and that you are able to make many more in the future! <3
As for myself, I've also been on a few trips with my family. Last weekened we went to a relatively small peninsula that is a national park. The combination of the sandy ocean beaches and the mountains covered in forests was truly beautiful :)
