This post was meant to go up on Sunday, sorry! It is inspired by the lovely Anna from A Spoonful Of Nature who recently did a very similar post! It’s been another tough week illness wise – my chronic pain is just horrendous at the moment and making life so hard. But you can always find things that make you smile during the bad times…
1. Watching the film ‘About Time’ in bed with my boyfriend Paddy – it made me feel so grateful for those around me
2. Banana & peanut butter nana ice-cream, YUM
3. Dipping my feet in the sea & the sun shining on my face (despite horrible payback)
4. Speaking to an old friend on the phone
5. My dogs excitement when we got home from being out for an hour
6. Paddy going to the trouble of making me home-made gluten free quiche for our spoonie version of ‘date night’
What has made you happy over the last week?
About Time is an absolutely gorgeous film <3 GBBO is the thing that made me happy this week!
x
I love it too! I adore Rachel McAdams
The GBBO made me so happy too, should have included it! xx
Wonderful post, Sophia! And though I really wish your pain become less harsh, it makes me happy, that you’ve managed to have some lovely moments despite it.
And it’s a joy to share with you some happa moments of previous week:
I’ve rearranged my table and finally made it more me;
Weather wasn’t too hot, so it was possible to enjoy it;
We were in a bit store and managed to be there for some time without being too exhausted (many peole+noise+light is an unbearable combination…though I understand that for you it really worse than for me)
Reading an interesting book
Seeing your new blog – honestly, whenever I hear from you, it makes me smile, especially when news are good.
Thank you so much Polina!
It sounds like you had a good week too! And well done for managing to go around a store, that’s amazing!
You’re a star! Xxxx
This blog post made me happy
you are so inspirational with your positivity Sophia, despite being in unbearable pain. It’s so nice to think of you smiling
thank you.
One of the best moments for me was dipping my feet into 16degree water after a day walking – so refreshing!
Lots of love xxxx
Aww I am so glad it made you smile Cat! Thank you
That does sound very refreshing! Hope this week is a good one! Lots of love too xxx
Loved your post and glad you’re finding positivity through the pain. Sorry you’ve had a rough week physically. Gluten free quiche sounds yummy, can I have the recipe??? Pastry is the one thing I miss most since going GF. Hope the pain eases for you xx
So glad you enjoyed it Kate! I will be putting the recipe up either on my blog or in an e-book very soon.
Thank you, me too! Xx
Glad you are thinking on things that you can be grateful for. It’s one of the best ways to get through tough times. My six: coffee, my husband making a major decision this week, my morning run, the chocolate cake I made for my daughters birthday (she said it was perfect!), my kids, and the leaves that have already started falling off the trees.
I couldn’t agree more Marie. If I didn’t do that I don’t think I’d get through each day.
hope this week is bringing you lots of happiness too! X
Those are six amazing things
Lovely post. I agree that chronic illness definitely makes you appreciate things more. I’m glad you were able to see the positives and enjoyed yourself despite the challenges of a tough pain week
It absolutely does! Thank you Donna, hope this week is being kind to you! Xxx
