When I received my new toy the other day – The Optimum 9200 – one of the first things that popped into my head that I had to make was hummus! I am a hummus addict, I absolutely LOVE it and I have it with everything – crackers, on toast with avocado, quinoa, chicken, you name it! I made this batch extra garlicky with a subtle spice from the cumin and it was delicious. I love adding toppings to hummus to add a little something extra, and paprika is great as it adds a lovely smokey flavour. What’s so great about this recipe is that it is so quick and easy, it literally takes two minutes, and it tastes so much better than shop bought varieties.
Ingredients
2 cans of chickpeas, drained and rinsed,
3 tsp tahini,
4 garlic cloves,
6 tbsp extra virgin olive oil,
3 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice,
1 tsp ground cumin,
Paprika and fresh coriander as toppings.
Instructions
Add all of the ingredients to your blender except for a handful of chickpeas that you set aside. Blend until smooth.
Pour/scoop out your hummus into a bowl. Top with the leftover chickpeas that you had set aside, some chopped coriander, a dash of olive oil and a sprinkle of paprika. Enjoy on toasted rye bread, crackers, with veggie sticks and more
HUMMUS PARTY!!!!
Wheeeeeeeeeeee!
I found that mine made a much smoother hummus than I’d managed in my food processor!
This looks delicious! Loving all the garlic!

It is!! You should definitely give it a try
I stumbled over thanks to FibroGeek’s blog post sharing her favorite spoonie bloggers. When I got here this was the first post that caught my eye. I love hummus and keep saying I’m going to make some. I finally bought some Tahini and I’ve still not made any hummus. perhaps today is the day? I’m out of fresh garlic though, any suggestions? would garlic granules work?
I am not sure about garlic granules but i think garlic powder would work Julie
Let me know if you give this a go!!
Looks delicious! We love making hummus too, all the time, I could eat it every day. Chickpeas are so healthy. Did you know chickpeas help break down internal fat around the organs thanks to its high resistance starch? Even better
