The last month or so has been a real toughie. No matter how much I rest I don’t seem to have any ‘good days’ at the moment. It was particularly frustrating on Saturday as it was my Birthday (I’m a Valentine’s Baby!?) and I really wanted my this year to be different to the last. I so wanted to be able to put on make-up and nice clothes, and to spend the day out and about with my lovely boyfriend. My health had other ideas as I woke up in agonising pain in my legs and my POTS wasn’t cooperating at all – dizziness and fatigue were awful from the moment I opened my eyes. It’s on a milestone like your birthday that you reflect on the year that has passed. Reflecting made feel sad and frustrated because I am physically no better than I was on my birthday last year. But the more I reflected, I started to see some of the things I’d achieved in the last year, for example, I’ve come on leaps and bounds in my mental health and I started a blog that is helping others in similar situations. So as you can imagine, it was an emotional start to the day.
Despite feeling terrible, Paddy worked really hard to still make the day special. He bought me a waffle maker for my birthday (whoop whoop!) and we made healthy vegan buckwheat waffles for breakfast!! I’ll be putting the recipe for these babies up soon so keep your eyes peeled.
He also drove me to the look out point at Pendennis point so that I could see the sea. The view across Falmouth Bay was incredible! It was such a gorgeous sunny day too
Something exciting also happened – Me and my spoonies friends (Emma, Hayley, Meg & Rachel) finally launched our YouTube channel on my birthday – A Spoonful of She. You can find out more about the channel here or watch our introductory video here. We are so excited to start making videos for you including beauty and fashion hauls and baking tutorials. We would really appreciate your support so please share and subscribe
What have you achieved in the past year? Is there anything in particular you’d like to see on our new YouTube channel?
