I am so excited to finally be able to share this with you…it’s been something that I’ve had to keep secret for a little while now and it’s honestly something that I’ve been thinking about doing for a long time… Myself, Emma, Hayley, Meg and Rachel, are starting a YouTube channel!!!! I am literally sat here beaming with excitement as I type this!
I’ve been dreaming of becoming a youtuber for quite some time. I watch YouTube videos everyday, in fact I watch them more than I watch the TV probably and that is saying something as I have a lot of time on my hands. But because of the severity of my chronic illness there’s no chance of me maintaining a YouTube channel on my own, I just couldn’t commit to weekly videos when my health is so delicate and constantly fluctuating plus it would be too much for me. Hayley and Emma came up with an idea that a group of us chronically ill chicks could start one together and we would share the load, and I’m so glad they did!
I connected with this group of girls earlier this year through blogging and on Twitter/Instagram. It’s been so lovely to have the support of other young people going through the same thing as me, it’s helped me see that I am not alone and that there is light at the end of the tunnel!
The channel is going to be called A Spoonful Of She. The name came about because we are all spoonies (chronically ill individuals – see my post on The Spoon Theory to understand why we are called spoonies) and we will be showing you an small insight (hence ‘a spoonful of’) into our lives as young women suffering from chronic illnesses. There’s more to us than our illnesses however, and we have lots of interests that we want to share with you such as baking, beauty and fashion. We will be launching the channel at some point in January, but keep your eyes peeled for more information on our social media channels soon.
We have so many exciting post ideas from healthy cooking tutorials to make up hauls, and I can’t wait to get started!! I really hope you enjoy our videos and subscribe! I hope starting a channel with the girls will give me a taster of YouTube and if I enjoy it and get a bit better maybe eventually I will start my own Meg is actually starting her own channel and more info about that will be coming your way soon.
What do you think of our exciting project?
