“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.” Jacques Cousteau.
I’m back in Cornwall, woohoo! Only for two weeks but it’s so nice to be home! For those of you who don’t know, I live in Cornwall with my boyfriend but I had to move back in with my family in Gloucestershire earlier this year temporarily as all of my medical care is there. On Friday we made it to the beach which was my aim for the trip down here. It was a little tricky as you can’t push a wheelchair across the sand, so I had to get out and walk (slowly hobble) to the waters edge. I only lasted a few minutes stood right by the sea but those moments were so lovely. We then had a lovely lunch at the beach cafe which overlooks the ocean. The beach is one of the things I miss the most about Cornwall. I love the smell of the salty water, the wind on my face, the gentle roar of the waves – they make me feel so calm and peaceful. Going to the beach is a kind of therapy for me, a chance to stop for a moment and appreciate what I have, to forget my worries and anxieties and be in the present moment.
“The cure for anything is salt water, sweat, tears, or the sea.” Karen von Blixen-Finecke.
Love this photos so much! I’d love to visit Cornwall, if only it wasn’t so far! Vitamin sea does us the world of good. Love your coat too, please dye your hair purple, you’d look amazing!
Thanks Hay!
you should definitely come down one day when you’re feeling stronger, it’s so beautiful and peaceful! I can’t wait to move home again soon. I’m definitely going to do it, just need to find a mobile hair dresser brave enough!

I love the sea too. In some places in Cornwall you can borrow a special beach wheelchair that can cope with the sand. I used the one at Bude in the summer and had great afternoon on the beach. Check the council website, all the details are there.
Thank you so much for letting me know that Mel, I’ll keep my eyes peeled for one of those!!
